Little Canyon

So Canyon recently got to be a "model" for a really cool photography buisness, Harris Photography. We got his pictures taken last year right around the same time. This is him last year.... And these are picture of him this year...time goes way too fast! He is growing up so fast.

Playing peek-a-boo. One of his favorite games.

I am so thankful for my little boy. He is our pride and joy:)

My Little Nemo

So I figured before Thanksgiving came, I had better catch up and write about Halloween. We had a very busy Halloween and basically had to do all of our activities in one day because of the move. Canyon was Nemo. I bought the costume about a month before Halloween and Canyon HATED it. So every day we practiced wearing it so when Halloween came, he wouldn't have a melt down when he put on his costume. And it was worth it. He loved wearing his Nemo and he still asks to wear it almost everyday. So we went to Aunt Andrea's house and had all the grandkids dress up in their coustumes and did a big picutre taking session (which I forgot my camera for), we did pumpkin carving, trunk or treating, and trick or treating to grandma's and grandpa's house. It was a busy day but very fun.

Cute little Nemo at the trunk or treat. Canyon even said trick or treat to get his candy.

Basically after every car he sat on the curb to try and eat his candy. He just couldn't resist:)

Once Canyon got this sucker, it was all over. It had had enough of trunk or treating and just wanted to eat that sucker!

Nemo and his cousin, the BYU cheerleader. They are best buddies.

My little Nemo all tuckered out after a full day of Halloween activities. Happy Halloween!!

A few announcements....

So I have a few announcements that are long long overdue. The first is that I am going to have baby and it is another BOY! Our lives are going to complete chaos in about three and a half more months. The second one is that we moved. We moved to a bigger apartment so we could have room for the baby. I figured something out...I HATE moving. And with me being pregnant I was basically useless in the entire process. We are so lucky to have such awesome family around to help us!

Kimberly and Casey helped us almost everyday of our move. Casey helped Daniel haul over big furniture and Kimberly helped move smaller things and helped clean our old apartment. Casey even babysat Canyon late one night while we were finishing up some cleaning!

Daniel's mom helped with the moving and cleaning and Daniel's dad helped with the big furniture too.

Uncle Tim took time off from the fruit farm to help us!

Amy and Jared babysat Canyon two days in a row for a long time so we could get things done. She has a tiny baby so it was very nice of her to take on Canyon too!

Merilee also helped us on several different occasions moving things and cleaning. Whatever task we had left over, she tackled it.

My mom was basically a life saver. She moved my entire kitchen! Dishes and all. She even came back for round 2 the next night and helped me clean our new and old apartment!

Even my sister Andrea came all the way from Spanish Fork with her kids to help me with the cleaning.

Thank you guys so so much for your help! We couldn't have done it without you. Family is the best thing in the world:)

Utah State Fair=AWESOME

For about three years now Daniel and I have been trying to make it to the state fair. We finally made it this year and it was so much fun! They have tons of animals, giant vegetables, really greasy food, and carnival rides. And we only got to see about half of the fair! Canyon had a blast and could not wait to see the animals. Grandpa Furr was really nice and paid for Canyon and Lydia to go for a pony ride. Here we are waiting in line for a horse back ride adventure.

Here is Canyon, Thunder, and I. (Thunder is the horse)

Canyon loved every minute and was sad when he and Thunder had to part ways. Thanks Grandpa for the fun ride!

Daniel and Canyon with the goats....they are kinda gross. The funny thing about the animals is that Daniel and I used to have to be around these kind of animals on an everyday basis when we worked at the ranch, but they were very cool to Canyon. The only animals he didn't like were the sheep. One baaed at him and it really freaked him out.

Giant veggies....yum!

Canyon and Lydia (and some kid who walked into my pic) on the giant pumpkins. They biggest one weighed 306 pounds!

Daniel and Canyon with a giant cow. Seriously that thing was huge!

This was a tiny baby cow that was only a few days old. Canyon went to pet it and decided the best place to pet it would be it's hoof:)

Canyon and Lydia riding the carousel. They could not get enough of the horsey rides!

Aunt Amy was very nice and got Canyon tickets to ride the choo choo. It was a dream come true for Canyon. He loves choo choos!

The family at the state fair. We had so much fun I think we will make it a yearly tradition:)

A much needed update...

Wow how time flies!! I can't believe that the summer is already over and we are into the fall!! Well, here is how the rest of our summer went. My brother and his family came from Washington to visit. It was so much fun to have them here. We got to do a lot of fun things including a trip to Salt Lake, playing rock band until all hours of the night, and swimming at the new Payson pool. We had a blast. We also went geo cashing. It was right there in Pleasant Grove and it was a jeep trail which made it extra fun. It was a blast! Here is Hayley digging the geo cash out of the bushes.
Here are the geo cashers...Zack, Clara, Laurel, Canyon, Hayley, Daniel, and Jeremy (my brother).

We also got to go to the aquarium in Salt Lake. It was actually really cool! Here are Canyon, Clara, and Zack looking at some frogs.

Here is the gang petting sea rays. Canyon loved playing in the water!!

Cute little Clara!

Hayley and Canyon

Canyon and Zack. It was so much fun to have them visit! We wish they could visit every month:)
One evening we went up to Tibble Fork to have a bbq in the jeep. Sometimes I think Utah is lame but when we can drive 15 minutes and be in really beautiful mountains, Utah isn't so bad after all.
Canyon and I went on another trip to the zoo. This time we went with Aunt Amy and Lydia. Canyon and Lydia had so much fun together!

After many attempts, here is the closest picture I could get that both of them were semi looking at the camera.

The cute baby giraffe.

For our big family vacation this year we went to Yellowstone. We LOVE Yellowstone. Canyon had a blast and loved camping and seeing all the animals. He even liked seeing the hot pots and geysers. Here is me and Canyon at Mammoth Hot Springs.

Canyon hanging out at camp. Isn't he cute!

Canyon playing in camp while we got breakfast ready. Look at his hands! He is such a boy. He would lay down in the dirt and dig around. He was dirty after being outside for 2 minutes! Every morning a chipmunk would come into our camp and eat the crumbs off the ground that Canyon would drop. Canyon called it the kitty.

Here are Daniel and Canyon at Fishing Bridge throwing rocks in the water. This was Canyon's favorite activity. We would have to find some body of water every day and let Canyon throw rocks in the water. He loved it!
So here I am trying to get a normal picture of Canyon and I with Canyon waterfall in the back ground. It turned out like this. Boys are crazy!
The family in Yellowstone.

Daniel and Canyon in Yellowstone Lodge. It is so sweet. I wish I had a cabin just like it.

We took Canyon swimming in Fire Hole River. It is nice because it is so warm. Canyon had a blast. He jumped off big rocks into the water. We couldn't get him leave!

So one day while were we letting Canyon throw rock into the water, he decided to just get right in and soaked his shorts and diaper. While I was trying to change him he escaped to check out some bugs and plants. LITTLE RASCAL!

Canyon throwing rocks in Lake Yellowstone. It is huge!
Canyon took some digging lessons from Aspen because here he is digging like a dog looking for the perfect rock to throw in the water.

"Buffs" as Canyon calls them. We also saw a ton of elk and deer. We saw a bear swim across a river too. Then it crossed the road almost right in front of us!

Here are Daniel and Canyon eating at our favorite pizza restaurant in West Yellowstone. It was at the end of our trip:(

Some other highlights of our summer included a girls trip to St. George. My sisters, my mom, and I went to St. George and left all the kids and husbands at home. It was my first time leaving Canyon overnight. It was sad! But the good news is that we had a blast in St. George. We went shopping, out to eat, swimming, and we even saw a chick flick. It was such a fun weekend.
Canyon also got a new little cousin, Landon. Lydia's little brother. After such a fun filled summer, here are my guys tuckered out.

We had such a fun summer. Daniel is in school again and it is getting cold. But we look forward to having a fun winter:)

Our Favorite Time of Year

Our family has been having a fun but busy summer so far. Here is what we have been up to in the last month and a half. First of all, Canyon and I went to the zoo...twice. First Canyon went with his cousins and then we went with some of my friends. It was a blast. Canyon loved the giraffes!
Here is Canyon's mad face when we had to leave the giraffes.
Canyon absolutely loved the carousel. He rode on the polar bear.

The good old lion drinking fountain. I remember that thing from when I went to the zoo in 1st grade! (That's been a long time)

Our upstairs neighbors got a kiddie pool that they set up outside in the back yard. Canyon LOVES it! As soon as we step outside he RUNS to it and he has successfully jumped into the pool on several different occasions with all of his clothes on.
Daniel spent one day brushing out Aspen. If any of you have ever had the experience of being around a shedding Alaskan malamute, you will understand how much hair is involved in this process. It could seriously fill up an entire garbage bag and possibly more. The entire lawn was covered with hair.
We also went camping for the weekend. We found the perfect spot surrounded by pine trees. It was beautiful and relaxing....until our super awesome camping neighbors started blasting their heavy metal music complete with swearing and other crude language. Finally I asked them to turn it down at 9:30 so we could put Canyon down for bed. Their idea of turning it down was to drive their truck that was blasting the music, about three extra feet down the road. This music continued until 3:00 in the morning. We haven't been back to that spot since.
Our family celebrated Strawberry Days in Pleasant Grove. We went the the parade with Lindsey, Devin, Max, and my mom. Canyon loved running out to collect the candy that the people in the parade threw. We had quite a stash of candy by the end of it. Then we went to Taco Amigo and ate fresh strawberry shakes. Yum! Canyon and Max also got to go to the carnival and ride the carousel. They had a blast.
Then something bad happened. I had pictures of all the above events, but a stupid copy place lost our memory card along with a bunch of pictures. IDIOTS!
Shortly after the strawberry days festivities, Canyon and I got the swine flu!!! It was awful. Poor little Canyon was so sick it broke my heart. Luckily, we both recovered and are in good health.
Daniel and I celebrated out 3rd year anniversary on June 21st! We got to go on a romantic date just the two of us. We have had a wonderful three years:)

We also celebrated the 4th of July! Daniel and his brother woke up at 4am to go and save us seats for the parade. Canyon and I got up at 5:30am so we could go and see the hot air balloons. All Canyon could say was "Wow! Wow!" Shortly after the parade started, Canyon fell asleep.

We finished off the day with a a bbq and fireworks. It was such a fun day!

Daniel's birthday was just a few days later. Daniel and I went to see Transformers 2 and went out to dinner at Los Hermanos. Happy Birthday Daniel!

Canyon is very spoiled and got a new pet. Fishys! Canyon recently became obsessed with fishys and we have watched Finding Nemo about 200 times. In hopes that I wouldn't have to watch Finding Nemo as much, we purchased three gold fish. Canyon loves them.

Canyon's First Haircut!

Canyon got his first haircut this last week. It was a great internal debate for me to finally decide to get it done. I loved his baby curls. They are so cute! But as soon as Canyon would take a nap or sit in his car seat his curls would go straight for the rest of the day. I was also having a hard time getting rid of another baby thing on Canyon. Getting his hair cut would make him a little boy and not a baby. However, Canyon was definitely having the business on top and party in the back hair do. I finally got up the courage to just get it cut.
I took Canyon to my friend Heidi who does a great job with cutting hair, especially with first time haircuts. This is a picture of Canyon's mullet: the before picture.

Canyon was upset at first and he started crying as soon as Heidi started combing his hair.

Then we got him a sucker and he was good to go.

Bye Bye mullet! He really does look like a little boy now and he is still very handsome.

Canyon is still a little traumatized but Heidi did a great job! Thanks Heidi.

Plus, Canyon no longer looks like he is related to this guy:) Thanks Heavens!! Right after we got his haircut I decided to take him to baby animal days at This is the Place Monument to make up for the haircut. Here is a baby cow that came up to the fence to see Canyon.
He loved the baby lambs and tried to feed them wood chips. The seemed interested at first. When the wouldn't eat them Canyon settled on throwing them into their food dish.

Canyon and Max hanging out with the baby goats.

Canyon loved the baby bunnies. Here he is giving one of them a love.

Canyon really liked all of the animals expect for the baby ducks. They really freaked him out. Sure, he is best friends with a 75 pound dog that looks like a wolf but a tiny duck is very scary to him.
Canyon also got to go on his very first real live pony ride...but again he is scared of a baby duck.

We also walked around the pioneer village. Canyon loved the mini village. He looked giant next to those little houses.

Here is Canyon driving the train. I think he had forgiven me for his haircut by this point.

By the time we got home he was exhausted after a long day. What a little darling. I guess he is still my baby after all.
