Introducing.......

Oakley Ryan Furr
02/05/2010
7lbs 14oz
20.5 inches

We finally had our baby! I was scheduled to be induced on the 5th at 7am but Oakley wanted to come on his own and I went into labor at 2:30am. By 8:48am he was born. Everything went great. Oakley is such a good baby. He is so sweet. Oakley is very mellow unlike his big brother:) Canyon has been doing really well with the new baby. So far we have caught him driving his toy cars all over Oakley's body, trying to give him a drink of lemonade out of a sippy cup, and trying to feed him candy. Oakley is going to be one tough baby! Canyon even got really sad when Oakley was crying because of his bath. He kept saying over and over "Oh no Oakley!" What a good big brother. I think they are going to be great friends:)

Haircuts and Motorcycles

Daniel got his yearly haircut recently....

Doesn't he look handsome! Daniel and Canyon got to have a super fun father son outing before the baby was born. They went to a motorcross event at Energy Solutions Arena. Canyon LOVES motorcycles. He had a blast and would get sad when the "cycles" drove out of the arena. When they drove back into the arena he would get very excited and cheer. On the way home Canyon turned to Daniel and said "Thank you much Daddy. Cycles!" He talked about it for days afterwards:)

Daniel loves having little Canyon to hang out with. They love going to the motorcycle store, gear stores, and playing "bad guys" on the Xbox. They really are best buddies:)

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and a Busy New Year

The holidays have been busy this year and I need to do a little catch up. We had a great Thanksgiving at Daniel's grandparents house. Canyon and Lydia did not care about eating the yummy Thanksgiving dinner, they just wanted to play! So they went for a walk. Aren't so they cute!!! I can't get enough of them holding hands. They love each other:) Around the holdiays Amy and I took Canyon, Lydia, and Landon to feed the ducks. They stood back at first not sure what to think of a billion quacking ducks....

then got right down by the water to feed the swarming ducks. They had so much fun! Until the crazy seagull came and tried prentending it was a duck (it is in the pic below). It was one aggressive and scary seagull.

Canyon was so much fun for Christmas this year! He loved Christmas lights! When we would go outside or drive in the car he would say over and over "Oh wow! Cool!" or "good one!". And if we didn't respond he would say "Mom! Dad! Cool!". He couldn't believe that sometimes we weren't as excited as he was about the Christmas lights.

I also took Canyon to the zoo lights with Max, Uncle Devin and Lindsey, and Grammy. He loved it! We saw some animals, a lot of Christmas lights, and even got to rid on the carousel.

We tried Santa again this year. As you can see it did not go well. We kept telling Canyon that if he sat on Santa's lap he would get a sucker. I thought he was actually going to do ok with a bribe of a sucker, but it did not work. He got a sucker anyway and immediately stopped crying as soon as he was off Santa's lap. What a rascal! We also got to do a few more fun Christmas things this year. We went to the Festival of Lights in Spanish Fork and also went to see the lights and reindeer at Thanksgiving point. Canyon loved every minute of it:)

We spent Christmas Eve at my parents house and had a delicious dinner. Canyon and Max got to open Christmas PJ's. Canyon got Car jammies. He was very excited (and still is) to wear them.

He also got to go to Grandma Furr's house and get more PJ's. He is so spoiled!

Aunt Lindsey, Canyon, Lydia, Aunt Merilee, and Landon on Christmas Eve.

Christmas day was fun and busy. It took us about two hours to open presents with Canyon. He would open one present and want to play with it right away. He was so cute and excited to get new toys. We also visited both of the Grandparent's houses. While at Grandma Furr's, Canyon and Lydia got into the Christmas decorations. It made a big mess.

Canyon gave Lydia car slippers for Christmas. They were so excited to wear them together.

So on Christmas morning Daniel and I leave the room for 5 seconds to get some breakfast and we come back to this! Packing peanuts everywhere! Canyon decided to not only dump them all over the place, but to break them up into little pieces. They were stuck to his face and his hair. I was literally cleaning up little tiny pieces of packing peanuts for the next two weeks.

We were a little late to Temple Square and Gateway this year but we finally made it after Christmas. Canyon was so mad about being all bundled that he wouldn't even look at us and say anything about the lights.

My friends do an annual New Year's Day trip to the Olive Garden. We have gone every year for over 10 years! Wow we are old!!!

Little Canyon

So Canyon recently got to be a "model" for a really cool photography buisness, Harris Photography. We got his pictures taken last year right around the same time. This is him last year.... And these are picture of him this year...time goes way too fast! He is growing up so fast.

Playing peek-a-boo. One of his favorite games.

I am so thankful for my little boy. He is our pride and joy:)

My Little Nemo

So I figured before Thanksgiving came, I had better catch up and write about Halloween. We had a very busy Halloween and basically had to do all of our activities in one day because of the move. Canyon was Nemo. I bought the costume about a month before Halloween and Canyon HATED it. So every day we practiced wearing it so when Halloween came, he wouldn't have a melt down when he put on his costume. And it was worth it. He loved wearing his Nemo and he still asks to wear it almost everyday. So we went to Aunt Andrea's house and had all the grandkids dress up in their coustumes and did a big picutre taking session (which I forgot my camera for), we did pumpkin carving, trunk or treating, and trick or treating to grandma's and grandpa's house. It was a busy day but very fun.

Cute little Nemo at the trunk or treat. Canyon even said trick or treat to get his candy.

Basically after every car he sat on the curb to try and eat his candy. He just couldn't resist:)

Once Canyon got this sucker, it was all over. It had had enough of trunk or treating and just wanted to eat that sucker!

Nemo and his cousin, the BYU cheerleader. They are best buddies.

My little Nemo all tuckered out after a full day of Halloween activities. Happy Halloween!!

A few announcements....

So I have a few announcements that are long long overdue. The first is that I am going to have baby and it is another BOY! Our lives are going to complete chaos in about three and a half more months. The second one is that we moved. We moved to a bigger apartment so we could have room for the baby. I figured something out...I HATE moving. And with me being pregnant I was basically useless in the entire process. We are so lucky to have such awesome family around to help us!

Kimberly and Casey helped us almost everyday of our move. Casey helped Daniel haul over big furniture and Kimberly helped move smaller things and helped clean our old apartment. Casey even babysat Canyon late one night while we were finishing up some cleaning!

Daniel's mom helped with the moving and cleaning and Daniel's dad helped with the big furniture too.

Uncle Tim took time off from the fruit farm to help us!

Amy and Jared babysat Canyon two days in a row for a long time so we could get things done. She has a tiny baby so it was very nice of her to take on Canyon too!

Merilee also helped us on several different occasions moving things and cleaning. Whatever task we had left over, she tackled it.

My mom was basically a life saver. She moved my entire kitchen! Dishes and all. She even came back for round 2 the next night and helped me clean our new and old apartment!

Even my sister Andrea came all the way from Spanish Fork with her kids to help me with the cleaning.

Thank you guys so so much for your help! We couldn't have done it without you. Family is the best thing in the world:)

Utah State Fair=AWESOME

For about three years now Daniel and I have been trying to make it to the state fair. We finally made it this year and it was so much fun! They have tons of animals, giant vegetables, really greasy food, and carnival rides. And we only got to see about half of the fair! Canyon had a blast and could not wait to see the animals. Grandpa Furr was really nice and paid for Canyon and Lydia to go for a pony ride. Here we are waiting in line for a horse back ride adventure.

Here is Canyon, Thunder, and I. (Thunder is the horse)

Canyon loved every minute and was sad when he and Thunder had to part ways. Thanks Grandpa for the fun ride!

Daniel and Canyon with the goats....they are kinda gross. The funny thing about the animals is that Daniel and I used to have to be around these kind of animals on an everyday basis when we worked at the ranch, but they were very cool to Canyon. The only animals he didn't like were the sheep. One baaed at him and it really freaked him out.

Giant veggies....yum!

Canyon and Lydia (and some kid who walked into my pic) on the giant pumpkins. They biggest one weighed 306 pounds!

Daniel and Canyon with a giant cow. Seriously that thing was huge!

This was a tiny baby cow that was only a few days old. Canyon went to pet it and decided the best place to pet it would be it's hoof:)

Canyon and Lydia riding the carousel. They could not get enough of the horsey rides!

Aunt Amy was very nice and got Canyon tickets to ride the choo choo. It was a dream come true for Canyon. He loves choo choos!

The family at the state fair. We had so much fun I think we will make it a yearly tradition:)
