Utah State Fair-I love you!!!
I mean seriously what is there not to like? The fair has real pony rides...

Goats who try to eat your stroller (which Oakley thought was hilarious!)
Giant cows...
friendly sheep...
cute baby pigs...

a plethora of vegetables...
Giant pumpkins..this one weighed 816 lbs!
vegetables dressed up like things..
weird rabbits..(Lindsey this pic is for you. Tell Devin Luna needs a friend!) They had to keep a giant fan pointed straight at this rabbit to keep it from over heating :)
Not to mention the delicious food, carnival rides, seal show, rodeo, art displays..The list just goes on and on. We can't wait until the fair next year!
PS. Oakley was scared of the ponies at first, but here he is looking longing at the ponies from behind the fence. I knew he secretly loved the pony ride!

Canyon's First Day of Preschool!!!
Canyon started preschool this year!!! He absolutely loves it! He goes to Mrs. Wood's neighborhood preschool with his cousin Lydia twice a week. Canyon asks to go to preschool everyday (and some times I wish I could send him everyday). On his first day of school I must admit that after I dropped him off I totally cried on the way home. It is amazing how time flies.
Partners in Crime...
pretty much describes Canyon and Oakley. Do you think I would purposely give my children a sucker- in the living room no less? For those of you that know me well knows that I HATE suckers and I pretty much want to punch the inventor of suckers in the face. So the answer to that question...no I did not give Canyon that sucker-he snuck it out of cupboard. Oakley is also guilty of sneaking snacks out of the cupboard. But at least when they do they share with each other.

That is how these two operate. They are rascals and when they get together and it means trouble. Here is another example of how I sent Canyon and Oakley outside to play asking them to please not get dirty.

They just had to play trucks in the strawberry patch. And then get in a dirt throwing fight.
Serious partners in crime. Canyon gets bored when Oakley is down for his nap, and Oakley gets bored (and gets into everything) when Canyon is at preschool. Canyon gets very sad when Oakley has time outs and yells "don't put my brother in time out!" I guess I should be happy that they like each other...most of the time.

Stories
Canyon has been into telling stories lately. It is usually pretty cute the stories he comes up with. Well, the other day we were driving in the car and Oakley started getting fussy. Canyon starting telling him the story of the Three Little Pigs to cheer him up. He started off by saying....
"Once upon a time, mom and dad were pigs...."
Awesome.

Mirror Lake
For our family camp out this year we headed out the Uinta's to Mirror Lake. It was very relaxing and beautiful. We experienced all the joys of camping-camp fires, outdoor cooking, roasted marshmallows and s'mores, really smelly drop toilets, beautiful scenery, the bugs, the stars, the clean air, and having much needed family time without cell phone reception. It was awesome :)
Our days consisted of walking around the lake trail...

going to the bridge and watching fish jump out of the water, and of course playing in the water (we sure missed our canoe). We also made the boys fishing poles out of sticks and all the fishing line that fishermen leave behind on shore (seriously fishers! Are you that lazy?)
We also past the time by playing/digging in the dirt, blowing bubbles, going on exploring adventures in the woods, Oakley's favorite pastime-throwing rocks in the water, and Canyon's favorite pastime-driving his remote control jeep. His jeep came back with some definite damage after being crashed into trees, rocks, picnic tables, his brother.....
The best part of our camping trip? We got to stay in Grandma and Grandpa Furr's sweet trailer! I never knew how luxurious trailer camping could be. Needless to say...it was amazing. At night instead of climbing into a cold tent-we got into the trailer, turned the heater up full blast, and all snuggled together in bed and watched a movie.

On our way home we stopped at Lily Lake to fly kites. But for some reason we could not get our All a Dollar kites to fly...I wonder why :) But it was pretty fun watching Canyon and Daniel trying to get them up in the air.
We also stopped by the Provo River Falls and stopped in Heber to eat lunch at the train station. We just didn't want our camping trip to end...
